I would like to comment on my own post. In terms of future trends, I believe that in the long term the world is marching inexorably towards further integration of cultures, economies, and political entities. The world is getting smaller and this process is unstoppable. However, I expect this process to have ups and downs and blips. We are right now in one of those blips, which means that in the short term this integration is receding and we are seeing more and more polarization between countries, rising nationalism, and the break down of trust and collaboration between some countries and regional blocs. this may take some years, but I think we will eventually come back to further integration and globalization.

What do you think?
